Privacy & analytics
Website visits
We use Vercel Web Analytics to measure visitors and pageviews. It collects page URLs, referrers, approximate location, and device, browser, and operating system information for aggregate statistics. Vercel identifies visitors using a hash of the incoming request, without third-party cookies, and discards visitor sessions after 24 hours. See Vercel's analytics privacy documentation for details.
Event-link clicks
When you open an event link, TLDR Events records the event, the time, and whether the link came from the website or Telegram. We use these records to understand which events interest readers and identify automated traffic.
We also record the IP address supplied by our hosting provider, your browser's user-agent string, and available device type, browser, operating system, language, and approximate city, region, and country. Device and location information may be incomplete or inaccurate. We do not request access to your device's GPS location.
If your browser sends a referring page, we store its address after removing query parameters, fragments, and embedded credentials. Browsers may omit this information. Click records are stored in our service database and are not published in the event feed.
To distinguish link previews and automated requests from browser interactions, we also record navigation and prefetch headers. When JavaScript is available, event links can include a temporary page reference and whether the browser reported a trusted click or keyboard action, a visible page, and an automation flag. The page reference expires for verification after 30 minutes and is kept only in memory in your browser. We record the public page path and the time since that reference was issued, without query parameters. These signals are estimates and cannot establish that a request came from a person.
This click tracking does not set cookies, use local storage, create visitor accounts, or assign a persistent visitor identifier. Retried requests carrying the same interaction reference are grouped together while retaining their request count. These click records are separate from Vercel's visitor and pageview statistics. Our hosting provider also processes requests to operate the website.
Event links take you to external services such as Luma, Eventbrite, or Meetup. Those services handle registration and tickets under their own privacy policies.
Administrator access
The private statistics page uses an essential session cookie when an administrator signs in. It expires after eight hours and is removed on sign-out. This cookie is not used to track public website visitors.
